master plan
terminal conceptual design
project data:
Leadin Aviation Consulting was appointed by Lima Airport Partners under a framework agreement signed in December 2019 to provide technical and advisory services for the expansion of Lima International Airport. The expansion programme included a new 65-metre air traffic control tower, a 3,480-metre second runway, approximately 10 kilometers of taxiways, a new emergency services facility, navigation aids, surveillance systems, and associated infrastructure.

Within this framework, Leadin Aviation delivered a Master Plan and a Terminal Area Concept Design for the airport’s expansion, including the new terminal building, apron, and related landside and ancillary facilities. The concept design was adapted to the post-COVID context and revised financial environment, consolidating elements from previous concepts and incorporating CAPEX optimization measures through design adjustments. Planning disciplines for terminal, airside, and landside components were developed to define planning parameters, and concept designs were prepared to ensure integration with existing and future infrastructure. Stakeholder engagement was conducted with investors, operations, commercial, maintenance, and PMO teams to collect and consolidate design requirements.

A solid concept design was produced within a short timeframe and adopted as the reference design for the EPC tender process, used by three bidders competing for the contract. The terminal is currently under construction. By consolidating strategic planning and adaptable concept design, Leadin Aviation established a resilient framework to support the NewLIM expansion and the long-term evolution of Lima International Airport.
