partnership with IATA

description:

Leadin Aviation was appointed to support the preparation of the Master Plan for Nur Sultan International Airport, following a request for advisory services and a proposal for the airport’s future infrastructure development based on growing demand trends up to the 2052 planning horizon. The project was carried out in collaboration with IATA Consulting and followed international standards and best practices. The scope covered assessment of the current situation, air traffic demand forecasting, capacity analysis, evaluation of development options, phased airport development and land use concepts, and capital and replacement expenditure planning.

Through this structured process, a clear understanding of the airport’s challenges was established, enabling rational and well-considered plans to accommodate future demand through a phased infrastructure development programme. A Master Plan document was prepared, defining a sustainable phased development framework to support coordination among stakeholders in the coming years. By structuring growth into a phased and coordinated master plan, a clear long-term framework was established to guide the sustainable development of Nur Sultan International Airport.

client benefits:

  • Definition of a phased development vision supporting the airport’s long-term business objectives;

  • Availability of a structured tool to support engagement with all involved stakeholders;

  • Implementation of design measures within concept designs to adapt to the prevailing financial context through CAPEX optimization;

  • Provision of a reference document to support discussions with municipal authorities;

  • Identification and reservation of development land.
