airfield design development
project data:
King Khalid International Airport
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
2019

description:
Leadin Aviation developed the geometric configuration of the Private Air Saudi Arabia (PASA) apron at King Khalid International Airport, covering approximately 80,000 square meters and including over 90 aircraft stands for different aircraft types. The airside design was then structured around defining aircraft stands according to the client’s fleet mix. Seven alternative apron configurations were developed and assessed, leading to a recommended preferred option validated using AviPlan Airside Pro software.

Following this, detailed geometric setting-out was completed, along with apron markings and the preparation of the hangar layout. The final output included a detailed geometric design of the preferred apron alternative. By translating fleet requirements into a validated and flexible airside layout, Leadin Aviation established a robust foundation for the future allocation of apron infrastructure at King Khalid International Airport.
client benefits:
-
Development of seven apron alternatives with defined geometric configurations;
-
Detailed geometric design of the selected apron alternative;
-
Improved allocation of airside infrastructure to support future operational needs.
