and apron studies
project data:

Istambul International Airport
Istambul, Turkey
2022
partnership with IATA
description:
Leadin Aviation provided specialized planning and capacity analysis support for calculating the declared capacity of the terminal area and associated apron of the New Istanbul Airport. The assignment required expert input to support a complex capacity assessment for one of the largest airport developments worldwide.

The methodology selected, reviewed by multiple technical bodies and authorities, was based on detailed dynamic simulation using commercial software. This approach enabled the evaluation of different operational hypotheses and performance scenarios. Leadin Aviation managed the full use of the simulation tool, defining all inputs, operational parameters, and flow logic required for the analysis. After generating initial results, Leadin Aviation analyzed and interpreted the outputs and iteratively adjusted the model until the final validated results were achieved.

The analysis covered an airport with an initial capacity of 90 million passengers per year and included simulation scenarios reaching traffic levels of up to 150 million passengers per year. By combining advanced simulation techniques with rigorous technical oversight, Leadin Aviation supported capacity certainty and confident decision-making for one of the world’s most ambitious airport developments.
client benefits:
