2019
partnership with Eurocontrol Apave Group

description:
The Abrisa Group, a well-respected and diversified business group in the Dominican Republic, with leading market positions in construction, real estate development, health and education, is interested in the construction and management of a new private airport to serve the touristic area of Playa Bávaro and surroundings.
In order to carry on all the studies and projects required to build this new airport, The Abrisa Group hired Eurocontrol services with Leadin Aviation Consulting as subconsultant to lead the initial planning studies (airport location and feasibility study), submit the aeronautical documentation for approval and develop a master plan concept for the airport.
The Airport Location Study (Phase I of the Project) consisted on the analysis of several items for different locations preselected by the Client. Leadin evaluated these alternatives and weighted them in order to define a decision matrix to select the most suitable location.
In the second phase of the Project, the team provided the capacity calculations for the airport (airside and landside), developed the Airport Master Plan proposal layout, the architectural concept & preliminary functional design of passenger terminal building and finally elaborated a promotional video introducing the new airport concept. During phase III, complementary studies have been carried on to depth in several aspects of the Project as review and update the architectural concept of passenger terminal building, redefine its functional design, optimize the airside configuration and finally build up a CAPEX estimation for construction of airport infrastructures related to initial design horizon (2.5 million of annual passengers). Leadin supported the Abrisa Group on the feasibility study for the construction of a new airport in Dominican Republic and elaborated the Master Plan of the new airport (New Bavaro International Airport) .
