DDFS
design days flights schedule
project data:
Development and update of multiple Design Day Flight Schedules (DDFS) for Athens International Airport, based on traffic forecasts provided by IATA. The work covered scenarios ranging from 33 to 45 million annual passengers, starting from an actual traffic volume of 22.7 million in 2022, and applied a 15-minute rolling hour methodology to analyze passengers, aircraft movements, and cargo, enabling the identification of operational profiles and demand peaks. The project was executed in two phases, combining the update of existing DDFS and the development of new scenarios through partial reuse of previous models and refined forecasts.

Following the 2022 delivery, IATA requested an update of the DDFS and a set of new scenarios required by the airport in 2025, reflecting the client’s continued confidence in the quality and reliability of the work delivered. All DDFS included full flight schedules and detailed operational parameters, providing consistent and robust design day profiles to support future planning and capacity assessment of the airport.
